Petromax sandwich iron
For perfect, stuffed toasts around the campfire
The Petromax sandwich iron is made of cast iron, just like the pots and pans. It can therefore be used directly in the fire and is ideal for toasting over a campfire or on the barbecue. So you don’t have to go without a well-toasted loaf of bread at the fireplace or on the barbecue at home.
The two cast-iron sides of the sandwich pan are connected by a hinge. Bread measuring 11 cm x 11 cm will fit inside. A hook closes the irons securely so that they cannot fall out. This means that the toasts can be placed in the iron ready filled and the topping heats up at the same time.
Long, wooden handles help to ensure that the heat source is at a safe distance for cooking. It is not necessary to bake the irons, as they are pre-treated accordingly (seasoned finish). Thanks to the patina on the iron, there is a natural non-stick effect.
The cast-iron toaster is very easy to clean and maintain. To preserve the patina, detergent should be avoided. If the patina is damaged, the iron can be burnt in again with Petromax Care Paste. The two sides of the iron can be separated for easier cleaning.
