Petromax Cast Iron Hand Mortar
With the Petromax hand mortar, you can grind spices, nuts and seeds for numerous creative dishes with little effort. Due to the dead weight of the mortar and pestle, even a small twisting movement is sufficient for this. The fine fluting in the lower part and on the pestle help to achieve the desired grinding result. From coarse to fine – depending on the technique, different grinds can be achieved.
Individual spice blends in no time at all
Different spices can also be combined in the hand mortar to compose intense flavour creations. To preserve the flavour and aromas for as long as possible, simply store the individual spice mixtures in the top of the mortar in an airtight container. This way they retain their freshness and can develop their full-bodied flavours during cooking.
Proper care of the Petromax hand mortar
As with all cast iron products, the same applies to the hand mortar: clean under clear water and allow to dry thoroughly. Never use detergents or even harsh cleaners. Remove heavier soiling with a ring cleaner. From time to time, the mortar should be rubbed with a little care paste to support its longevity.
