Cast iron fire pot with lid – ideal for fire pits on camping holidays
The Petromax FT0.5 Dutch oven is suitable for use directly over the campfire, on the barbecue and, thanks to the sturdy feet, also directly in the embers. This makes it ideal for any camping adventure. The FT0.5 is also ideally equipped for ovens or over a gas flame. Because of the sturdy, cast iron design, it is a versatile and durable companion. The durable cast iron mould is suitable for cooking, roasting, braising and baking. The surface is pre-treated (seasoned finish) and can therefore be used immediately without baking. The lid has a raised rim, making it possible to place embers or charcoal on the pot. This means that the pan can be heated evenly from all sides and can also be used for baking bread, for example.
The Petromax Dutch Oven has a volume of 0.56 litres. It can be used to prepare smaller dishes. The pot is ideal for sauces and desserts. A practical notch in the handle ensures secure suspension above the fire. There is a recess for inserting a thermometer. The lid can also be used as a stand-alone pan with a volume of 0.25 litres. As it gets very hot, the Petromax Aramid potholders are a useful helper.
The cast iron of the pot offers very good heat storage. As a result, many dishes succeed exceptionally well. Thanks to the even heat distribution, the Dutch oven is also ideal for baking. Due to the pot’s constantly developing patina, it has a natural non-stick effect. Cleaning and caring for the pot is very easy and no washing-up liquid is required.
