Cast iron fire pot with lid – ideal for fire pits on camping holidays
The small Petromax FT1-T Dutch oven is ideal for use directly over the campfire or on the barbecue. In combination with a stacking grate, it can also be used directly in the embers or even as a grill or smoker. This makes it ideal for any camping adventure with family or friends. The FT1-T is also ideally equipped for ovens or over a gas flame. The robust cast iron makes it a versatile and durable companion. The durable cast iron mould is suitable for cooking, roasting, braising and baking. The surface is pre-treated (seasoned finish), so the Dutch oven can be used immediately without seasoning. The lid has a raised rim and thus allows embers, e.g. from the Petromax Cabix Plus charcoal, to be placed directly on the pot. This means that the pan can be heated evenly from all sides and can also be used for baking bread, for example.
Petromax FT1-T: Ideal for small portions and side dishes
The Petromax Dutch Oven FT1-T has a volume of 0.93 litres. It is ideal for preparing small portions and side dishes. A notch in the handle makes it easy to hang over the fire. There is a recess for a thermometer. The lid can also be used on its own as a pan with a volume of 0.25 litres. As it gets very hot, the Petromax lid lifter is a useful helper.
The cast iron of the pot offers very good heat storage, which is particularly beneficial for braised dishes. Thanks to the even heat distribution, the Dutch oven is also ideal for baking. The pot’s constantly developing patina ensures a natural non-stick effect.
Easy cleaning and care of the Dutch oven
Clean with a little warm water and a brush; stubborn incrustations can be easily removed with a ring cleaner. Under no circumstances should washing-up liquid be used, as this destroys the valuable patina. From time to time, the pot should be rubbed with a little neutral vegetable oil or Petromax care paste in order to enjoy the cast iron for a long time.
